A popular pop-up store is returning to the Brunswick Shopping Centre for the Christmas period.

The Calendar Club, which always proves a hit with shoppers around this time of year, will be located in the former Carphone Warehouse unit from November 2021 and will remain open until 7 January 2022.

Specialising in retailing calendars, diaries, planners and gifts, the Calendar Club has around 200 pop-up stores on the high street and in shopping centres across the UK during the busy Christmas shopping season.

The Calendar Club is the first new retailer to open at the Centre since it was purchased by Scarborough Group International just 10 weeks ago. The leading real estate developer and investor is working closely with Scarborough Borough Council to develop a new vision for the Centre, incorporating a range of additional uses including leisure and food and drink, in order to cement it as the premier retail and leisure destination on the Yorkshire coast.

Jack Abou-Jaoude, Senior Development Manager at Scarborough Group International, commented:

“It’s been a busy few months since we purchased the Brunswick Shopping Centre but we’re delighted to welcome our first new tenant in time for the Christmas trading period, which will complement some of the other seasonal activities we have planned.

“We’ve got big ambitions for the Centre’s future and are looking at ways in which we can utilise the existing space to diversify the existing tenant mix to create a vibrant retail and leisure destination and hope to be able to make further announcements in the not-too-distant future.”

David Pike at Calendar Club, said:

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to return to the Brunswick Shopping Centre, which proved to be an incredibly popular store last year.”

As well as the official Christmas lights switch on, which is due to take place on Thursday 18 November 2021, additional activities are planned for the festive season at the Brunswick Shopping Centre. For more information, please visit
