Be Kind

Blog — Be Kind

More than 35 people a day are using the Foodbank at Scarborough’s Rainbow Centre. That’s up 20% on last year. The Facility is now busier than at any time in its 23-year history.

Over the summer the Salvation Army will support more children than ever before with prepared meals, to nourish them when they won’t be getting lunches at school.

Brunswick takes its CSR and position of trust within the local community very seriously, and when we heard stats like those above we knew it was time to help!

Our ‘BE Kind’ Foodbank Appeal aims to mobilise the local community, give maximum exposure to food poverty issues on our own doorstep while giving people an easy provide a convenient town location to Centralise collections.

We believe that if every one of you our generous customers were to regularly give some grocery items in support of the fabulous work being done by both charities it would go a long way to eradicate food poverty in the Scarborough district.

Our local foodbanks need supplies of all kinds, from beans to pasta and dog food to toiletries, so please let’s all check our cupboards and larders and donate anything we have spare.  Currently they are desperate for:

Dried or long life milk, teabags, tinned beans, tinned meat, tinned stews, pasta sauces, tinned chopped tomatoes, tuna and tinned veg.

We have to say a huge thank you to Yorkshire Coast Radio for helping Brunswick, the Salvation Army and Rainbow Centre drive the ‘BE Kind’ Appeal with an FOC airtime and digital advertising.
