History of the centre
The Brunswick Shopping Centre was first opened on 23rd July 1990 (Phase 1). Built on the site of the old Debenhams store, the centre offers 130,000 sq ft of quality retailing on two trading floors. Main features include a Debenhams Department Store, 35 shop units, an impressive atrium, a restaurant, mall coffee house and 350 car parking spaces.
The second and final phase was opened on 28th October 1991.
Located in the prime retail area of Westborough the Brunswick Centre is close to the railway and bus stations. We are situated opposite major retailers such as Boots, W. H. Smith and Dixons. Bus stops are provided on two sides of the centre, one being adjascent to Debenhams on Somerset Terrace. Adjascent to the centre on Westborough and Vernon Road the precinct is pedestrianised.
The design of the Brunswick Centre incorporates some of the local period architectural highlights within a contemporary structure. The detailing has it’s origins in the bow fronted structures prevalent in the town. The interior continues the exterior theming – presenting a light filled and elegant environment.
Two entrances at street level on Westborough offer direct access to the centre’s two trading floors.
